Why Do We People Hate One Another and Judge Each Other?
Hate
Hate...Such a strong and overused word: "I hate the rain", "I hate black licorice". We use this word every day. Think about it; what are some of the things that you hate? When was the last time you used that word? (I bet it was today!)
Well, I would like to say that I don't hate anything, but of course, that would be a lie. We all have hate; it is an emotion that we are all born with and we must work to overcome it every day.
If untamed, this emotion turns into behavior: Prejudice, Violence, etc. And in fact, all behaviors can be modified, as they are learned, not innate .
One thing I can say, is that I do Hate war and I hate everything that comes with it. Broken countries, broken families, disease, death, and so on. I really would expect that human beings in this day and age, with all the available technology and communication, that we could eradicate most of the wars.
Why are we fighting the Taliban? Did anyone ask us to do that? Is the Taliban responsible for 9-11 ? I know that we are liberating some people in that region, and I am happy for that, but maybe, just maybe, we should choose our battles wiser. I could go on and on about the "Bush Agenda" (starting with the Father) but why bash people and cry over "spilled milk"? Let's move on from the present. We know that they did a lot of damage, but when are we going to move forward, as a country, as a Human Race?
We have 2 immediate possible outcomes:
1. Continue our way until most people die in a "WWIII", or
2. Change the way we think and practice our politics. Health Care is very important, and I, personally, support Social Healthcare much like the model in Canada. But that's not my point here. We need to get out of the Middle East and fight out own battles at home: Disease, AIDS, Cancer, Gangs, Unemployment...the list continues.
In short, we need to take care of our own problems before we create newer problems throughout the world. We need people to become educated on world affairs, Vote, and take action! Only then can we truly represent and help the world.
